Reverse Engineering

3D CAD models simply are not made available. This is where reverse engineering using 3D Scanning and CAD modelling comes in.

Parts are 3D scanned to collect precise, accurate and complex full surface geometry.

With the 3D Mesh data we are able to draw (3D Model) the part around the scan, this gives us dimension and surface geometry accuracy.

Experience the Benefits of Reverse Engineering

There never is a need to re-invent the wheel when you can apply reverse engineering to a product that already works. When you want to replicate a product, you have to be as accurate and precise as possible. We do that through 3D scanning and CAD modelling. The scan gives us full surface geometry, while the CAD modelling adds dimension and details of the surface geometry.

What You Can Expect From Us Regarding a Reverse Engineering Service

Rather than taking an entire product apart to see how it was made, the latest tech makes it easy for us to see all aspects of a product, and computer software ensures the accuracy that you want to see in your final product. Reverse engineering is often used to make certain parts of a machine cheaper, common in military tech, and even for biological analysis of genes. Here is what takes place during reverse engineering:

  • The first step in reverse engineering is information extraction. We disassemble the product to gain maximum information about its structure and interior before trying to recreate the parts. We use 3D scanner for accurate results here.

  • The modelling. This step involves the recreation of the product either by making a mould or using CAD. Technology has made this process much easier, and our CAD will ensure more accurate results and detail on the product.

  • Review. Now that we have the product in front of us, the proof will only be in testing it in different situations to see if it works the way it is supposed to. The CAD usually eliminates most errors, but a thorough review is necessary to ensure the best quality.

There are very few products that can’t be reverse-engineered. The benefit of having perhaps discontinued product parts or machines at your disposal means a second life for a reliable product or device.

What We Offer Related to Our Reverse Engineering Service

As is evident from our name, tool design and CAD services are what we do, and we do it well. There is no denying that new technology brought many new techniques and software to assist us, but a machine can’t replace knowledge and experience in the field.

  • Plastic injection tool design. If you need tools done in bulk, it is always best to create a mould first. We inject melted plastic at high pressure into a mould that then solidifies to create your final product.

  • Metal press tools. We can produce hydraulic, mechanical or pneumatic press tools for cutting and forming metal for your factory, construction or manufacturing business.

  • Finite element analysis (FEA). To provide you with the best quality product and the best way to ensure that it will hold in reality and do what it was made for, the FEA uses a computer to play out how it will react under pressure in a real-world situation.
